The duties of a professional computer trainer can be very diverse. First of all, a computer trainer must possess a full knowledge of all office skills including data entry, creating excel sheets and an aptitude to working with Microsoft Word and Excel. The individual must also possess a well-rounded and thorough understanding of all aspects of administrative work. Higher paying computer training jobs also require that you possess at least five years of office experience of which two years were spent in a supervisory position.

Computer trainers must also have a high emotional quotient as well as a talent for dealing with people. This is because many of them end up working with several staff teams. Computer trainers must also be familiar with such concepts as the adult learning process as well as philosophies familiar to client empowerment. Many government positions require a computer trainer to be bilingual or to have some experience working with the disabled or the homeless. Previous experience teaching in a classroom is also greatly desired by potential employers.
